BioStrip™

BioStrip is a completely biological technology for reducing sulfur. In biogas with concentrations of sulfur below 15,000 ppm, BioStrip provides the lowest operating expenses per pound of sulfur removed of all AFT solutions. In addition, the elemental sulfur byproduct can be resold to further reduce expenses.

Features:

• Acidophilic bacterial colonies are the active agent for reducing sulfur. These are reliable and safe.
• Sulfur and sulfate byproducts are automatically discharged with the recirculated water as needed.

Advantages:

• Completely green technology: reduces sulfur through biological means, with few chemicals required.
• Ideal for low-flow and high-concentration or lowconcentration and high-flow digester gas.
• Can operate at any inlet digester temperature.
• Only discharge is drip water with a pH of 1-2 at a rate of 1 gallon/minute.

Requirements for usage:

• The maximum amount of sulfur that can be treated is 15,000 ppm.
• System requires access to water and air.
• May require water conditioning to ensure correct amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium.
• Requires a discharge line.
• Capital expenditure is potentially higher than other sulfur removal technologies, but operating costs are much lower.
• Allow 18-24 weeks for delivery.
• Disruptions in gas flow are controlled with automated addition of nutrients.
